Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Timothy Grave as assistant principal of Dwyer Middle School.

Mr. Grave has 14 years of experience in education. He has served the Huntington Beach community for the past four years as an assistant principal at Marina High School, and prior to that as an assistant principal at Tustin High School.

In his role as assistant principal, he promoted a culture of collaboration among staff at his campuses in support of teaching and learning. In addition, he worked closely with school administrators in the successful development of the school master schedule; planned and led professional development activities for all staff; oversaw athletic programs; and managed discipline and attendance procedures and systems. He also led the successful implementation of a one-to-one student device initiative.

Prior to his administrative role, Mr. Grave was an athletic director and history teacher. He is known to have a relentlessly positive outlook and an ability to build productive relationships.

“He is known for caring deeply about students, and always working to ensure that they have what they need to thrive and be successful in school and in life,” said Superintendent Dr. Leisa Winston. “We’re excited to have Timothy join the Dwyer team–his leadership, commitment to staff and students, and positive energy will provide for continuity as Dwyer continues to move forward!”

Mr. Grave obtained his Masters of Education from National University, and his Bachelor of Arts in History from California State University, Long Beach.
