Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) Board Member Mrs. Bridget Kaub, representing Trustee Area 1, has announced that she will resign from the Board of Trustees effective June 1, 2024.

Mrs. Kaub was appointed as a provisional member of the HBCSD Governing Board on February 15, 2012, at a special Board meeting to complete the unexpired term of Ms. Catherine McGough. She was elected to serve on the Board of Trustees on November 6, 2012, re-elected on November 8, 2016, and again on November 3, 2020.

"On behalf of our Board of Trustees and HBCSD leadership, we thank Mrs. Kaub for her service and longstanding commitment to the District,” stated Ms. Diana Marks, HBCSD Board President. “We greatly appreciate the leadership, insight, and expertise that she has provided over the past twelve years,” she said.

The Board will determine whether to make a provisional appointment or order a special election within the next 60 days.  Mrs. Kaub’s term was set to expire in December 2024.  The Trustee Area 1 seat will be open again in the next regularly scheduled election, which will be held on November 5, 2024.
