Memorandum Of Understanding With West Ed To Conduct The California Healthy Kids (CHKS) Survey
The District recommends that the Board approve a partnership with WestEd to conduct the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) for students in grades 5 and 7 and staff. This confidential survey gathers valuable insights on physical activity, nutrition, school safety, and student well-being, supporting program planning and the district’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
Employment Contract for Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Services – Recommended for Approval
Approval is recommended for the employment contract for the new Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Services, with a term from January 2, 2025, to June 30, 2027. Following a recruitment process led by School Services of California (SSC), the contract includes an annual salary of $225,380, a monthly mileage allowance of $200, a cell phone allowance of $125, and eligibility for district-provided health and fringe benefits. This position is funded through the general fund.
Tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement with HBETA
The District recommends approval of the tentative collective bargaining agreement with the Huntington Beach Elementary Teachers Association (HBETA) for the 2024-25 school year, effective July 1, 2024. HBETA has ratified the agreement, which includes updates to the terms of the agreement, salary (3.0% increase, totaling $968,912), and a memorandum on class size reduction, with an estimated cost of $695,482.
