Happiness Facts
Our Actions Directly Impact Our Happiness:
Our genes contribute to roughly 50% of the differences in personal happiness, while factors like income and environment have only a 10% impact. The remaining 40% is influenced by our daily activities and the conscious choices we make. This means that the actions we take can have a significant effect on our happiness.
Happiness Protects Our Hearts, Literally:
The Harvard School of Public Health reviewed 200 mental and heart health studies. They found that being optimistic and experiencing positive emotions can help protect against heart disease, slow its progression, and lower the risk of heart-related events, like heart attacks, by about 50%.
